Anyone can learn anything. Nobody should do it alone.
We started in Makoko, Lagos, paying school fees, bringing food, and putting 100 children through computer training. Then 912 students came through eight free tech bootcamps. Now EEF Learn opens the same classroom to every age: free, open-source learning maps for teenagers, working adults, and anyone ready to start.

Each chapter reached further than the last without changing what the work is for: people who start with less still get to learn. First children, then teenagers, and now anyone, at any age.

Makoko is a fishing community built on stilts over the Lagos Lagoon. We started there with 100 children. We paid their school fees, brought food to their homes by canoe, and paid for every one of them to finish a computer training course.

Next came eight free tech bootcamps: twelve-week programs in math, coding, and design for ages 8 to 19. Comparable bootcamps charge $2,500. Ours cost families nothing.

The bootcamp had an age limit. EEF Learn does not stop at 19. It is the same free classroom, opened to everyone, with a goal of one million learners by 2035.

Emmanuel Eze started this so nobody learns alone.
He is the founder and president of the Emmanuel Eze Foundation. The work began in Makoko, Lagos, with school fees, food, and computer training for 100 children. It grew into eight free tech bootcamps for 912 students, and is now EEF Learn, built for learners of every age. He still writes the software the foundation runs on.
From Washington, DC he also founded Unseen Engine, the engineering studio that builds and maintains the systems behind this work.
